Why can a difficult task require less effort after much practice?
Answer & explanation
Some operations become more automatic and efficient
A novice must deliberately monitor many details of a new task, while an expert can execute familiar parts with less effort. Repetition makes some mental operations quicker and more automatic, freeing attention to notice problems and manage new demands. Expertise does not remove every error, but it changes where effort is needed.
